Rita Rose is a strong female MC who is making headway into the rap scene with potent lyrics purposed with political awareness and tolerance.  With an upcoming mix-tape titled “One,” scheduled to drop in December, “Save the World in the Day” was released as a preview:   “I’m breaking this conditioning. The people keep listening. They want to hear the truth. So my mission is spitting it.”  

 

She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania- gaining a wide ranged education in art and the creative process. She has studied both visual and literary arts but has recently found a new motivation: “I want people to love. I want people to see that we are facing a crisis, time to open up them eyelids.” 

 

Her very first video has already reached over 9,000 views, she has been interviewed by People of Pittsburgh Go Hard Magazine, and continues to collaborate with a wide variety of local artists. By drawing inspiration from an incredible variety of artists like Capital Steez, Tribe Called Quest, Subhuman, and Miles Davis, she has claimed music as her picket sign- one we expect to see much more of in the near future.
